Especially for Bonaire: books for babies in four languages
The ability to read is not just an essential life skill, but opens up a world of knowledge, communication and fun. Children who familiarize themselves with the written word at an early age gain a tremendous head start in life. This is why we are happy to report that Bonaire's Reading & Writing Foundation (an initiative of the Bonaire Rotary Club) has developed three special baby books. These books are meant to increase children's vocabularies, and to stimulate parents to read to their children. Each word in the books is featured in four languages: Papiamentu, Dutch, Spanish and English. The pictures are Bonaire-themed. Children will receive the first two books when they visit the child consultation agency, and the third book when they become a member of the Reading & Writing Foundation's media bus. The first books will be festively presented on October 1st at 10 AM at the child consultation agency Kaya Princes Marie 7. Fun Miles and its partner Stichting Lezen en Schrijven Bonaire are proud to have been able to play a part in bringing this wonderful project to life.
